Notice of Intent to Award a Contract
Notice is hereby given that the City of Abbotsford (the “City”) is contemplating making a direct award to Panasonic Canada Inc. (the “Service Provider”) for the following:

$108,572.20

Background
Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs) are the computers within police cars that allow police officers to securely
access sensitive police only information and to write and submit police reports. MDTs further provide
the ability to communicate with other officers, supervisors, other police jurisdictions and to
communicate directly with the dispatch centre at E-Comm. Patrol officers are dispatched emergency,
urgent and non-emergency calls for service via Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) on the MDT. MDTs are
installed within the main console between the driver and front passenger seat. The MDT is a critically
important communication tool for police.
