This project includes demolition and replacement of various HVAC equipment, piping, and items in Oahe Dam powerhouse, Pierre, South Dakota. The subject equipment and items include but are not limited to two (2) Trane Series R_CenTravac_rotary screw compressor water source heat pumps (180 ton /each), heat pump water piping, motorized valves and valve actuators, water coils, electric resistant pre-heat coil (150 KW), piping specialties, condensate drain pans, damper actuators, thermostats, etc. in variously sized Air Handling Units (AHUs). Additional work includes incidental related work such as restoring insulation on affected systems and providing new insulation on new equipment, piping, ductwork as applicable and necessary. The work also includes demolition of existing 8" basket strainer and a minor alteration of heat pump water piping to allow installation of new 8" single basket strainer at lower elevation in the heat pump room. Contractor is responsible to provide new 8" manual single basket strainer and additional piping alterations that may be necessary to accommodate new heat pumps, strainer, valves, valve actuators, and new piping specialties. It shall be noted that one heat pump must remain operational throughout the construction duration. Contractor must closely coordinate with powerhouse personnel and COR regarding required AHU downtime prior to perform any work on AHUs.
