Board Chambers Countertop Installation Project

The County of San Benito is requesting quotes from qualified contractors to furnish, fabricate, finish, and install a new fixed wood countertop at the County Board Chambers, including the Supervisors’ main dais and Clerk of the Board return area. The work includes field verification, fabrication, finishing, installation, associated supports and hardware, and all incidental work necessary to provide a complete and finished installation.

The County of San Benito is seeking a qualified contractor to furnish and install a new fixed wood countertop within the County Board Chambers. The new countertop will be installed along the existing pony wall serving the Supervisors’ main dais and Clerk of the Board return area. The project is intended to provide a durable, functional, and professionally finished countertop that matches and complements the existing furniture and wood finishes within the Board Chambers.

The Board Chambers is an existing operational facility with electrical outlets, microphones, monitors, cabling, furniture, and other equipment located within and adjacent to the proposed work area. Contractors shall account for these existing conditions and shall field verify all dimensions, elevations, clearances, and other conditions affecting fabrication and installation prior to ordering materials or beginning fabrication.

The County has provided Attachment A – Board Chambers Countertop Installation Scope of Work and Conceptual Detail to establish the project requirements and design intent. Dimensions shown in Attachment A are conceptual and shall be verified in the field by the selected contractor. The contractor shall coordinate the work with County staff to minimize disruption to Board Chambers operations and protect existing improvements and equipment throughout the work.

The quote shall be submitted as a lump-sum price for the complete scope of work and shall include all labor, materials, fabrication, delivery, equipment, tools, hardware, supports, finishing, installation, field verification, cleanup, applicable taxes and fees, and incidental costs necessary to complete the work described in Attachment A.

Project Scope: The project consists of furnishing, fabricating, finishing, and installing a new fixed wood countertop at the County Board Chambers, including the Supervisors’ main dais and Clerk of the Board return area. The countertop shall be stained and finished to match and complement the existing furniture and wood finishes within the Board Chambers, subject to County approval of the final stain/finish. The work includes field verification of existing conditions and final dimensions, fabrication of the countertop, stain and protective finish, metal support brackets and associated hardware, openings/penetrations for microphones and cables, and complete installation.

Refer to Attachment A – Board Chambers Countertop Installation Scope of Work and Conceptual Detail for the complete project requirements, dimensions, materials, and installation requirements. Attachment A is incorporated into this Request for Quotes and shall be included in the contractor’s proposed price. All dimensions shown in Attachment A are conceptual and subject to final field verification by the selected contractor prior to fabrication.
