This project includes, but is not necessarily limited to:

The City of Valdez is seeking qualified firms to provide the City with Construction Manager/ General Contractor Services to perform a building renovation of approximately 5,000 square feet within the now “vacant” former VCS District Offices Building (located at 1112 W. Klutina Street, Valdez, Alaska, 99686) for the purpose of creating a new Child Care Facility within the existing building footprint.

The scope of work for this project includes but is not limited to; selective demolition, hazmat remediation, interior finishes, mechanical and electrical modifications, lighting, carpet, drywall, exterior and interior windows & doors, limited site Civil, a playground and playground equipment installation. (The new playground equipment has been purchased by the “Owner” and is currently located in storage on-site.)

Sealed bids will be accepted until 4pm local time on August 17, 2026, via dropbox link.

All proposers must submit an electronic copy of your complete proposal package via the City’s Dropbox application. A link to a OneDrive folder will be sent following a request from the proposer. Access to the electronic Dropbox must be requested in writing via email to Lindy Vititow AND to Domonique Alex NO later than one business day prior to proposal submission the deadline. The proposer’s email request should identify all email addresses needing access to the file share and include a phone number they may be reached at. Failure to request access in advance may disqualify a firm’s proposal. Access can be requested well in advance of the deadline

Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid is required.

The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in a bid and to reject any and all bids without cause.

Current minimum prevailing wage rates as published by the Alaska Department of Labor must be paid if required by law.

Requirements of the Alaska Employment Preference (AS 36.10) must be met.

The City of Valdez encourages disadvantaged, minority and women-owned firms to respond and is available to assist said firms in learning how to do business with the City.

The City of Valdez “ Standard Specifications and Standard Details ” shall be used.
