INVITATION TO BID
Newberry County (Agency) is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the construction of a new
Public Safety facility located at 2301 Adelaide Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
This solicitation is intended to promote competition. If any language, specifications, terms and conditions,
or any combination thereof restricts or limits the requirements in this solicitation to a single source, it shall
be the responsibility of the interested vendor to notify the Purchasing Director in writing within five (5) days
prior to the opening date. The solicitation may or may not be changed but a review of such notification will
be made prior to the award.

Bidder Responsibilities and Requirements:
All prospective bidders must participate in a Pre-Bid meeting. The Pre-Bid meeting shall be at the location
listed above. Failure to attend this meeting shall be grounds for rejection of bid.
Deadline for questions is listed in the Important Dates above.

Prices submitted are valid for 60 days.
Project Description:
The Total Project includes a new 22,290 Sq. Ft. facility with an additional 3,300 Sq. Ft. of mezzanine
storage. The facility houses three tandem bays of Fire Apparatus, three tandem bays of Rescue Apparatus,
offices, training room, a 10 bunk residential dorm, kitchen, dayroom/dining room, fitness room, a covered
outdoor patio, and apparatus support spaces.
The sitework includes new heavy duty concrete drives with front and back aprons, 13 standard parking
spaces, 1 accessible parking space, fencing, dumpster enclosure, transformer and generator pads,
connecting sidewalks, and front circular plaza with flagpole.
Construction disciplines required for the project include, but are not limited to:
Site work: Excavation, rough and finish grading, branch utilities, paving
Concrete: Cast in place
Concrete Preparation: Concrete surface preparation specific to specified densifier
and seal coat.
Masonry: Unit masonry assemblies
Metals: Miscellaneous steel. Standing seam roof panels and trim.
Wood & Plastics: Rough and finish wood carpentry and trim
Thermal & Moisture Protection: Weather barrier and insulation
Doors & Windows: Storefront and Hollow metal doors and frames.
Finishes: Gypsum board assemblies, paint.
Concrete Coatings: Densifier and seal coat.
