Summary
The Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries is seeking quotes for landscaping service for the J. B. Taylor Regional Veterinary Laboratory (Elba Lab) located at 495 State Road 203, Elba, AL 36323.

Bi-Weekly Requirements:
(1) Mow all turf areas.
(2) Edge all sidewalks and curbs.
(3) Blow off all sidewalks and areas close to the building.
(4) Remove all weeds and debris in parking lot.
As Needed:
(1) Weed Planted Areas.
(2) Weed lawns.
(3) Fertilize.
(4) Provide Fungus Control.
(5) Cut suckers off Crape Myrtles and River Birches. Remove any dead or crossing limbs.
(6) Remove leaves and limbs.
(7) Install pine straw twice per year.
Maintenance List:
(1) October 2026: Clean up all litter and leaves on lawn and groundcover beds. Check mulch in beds and replace it where necessary. Check all planted areas for water requirements. Hand weed beds for winter.
(2) November 2026: Clean up all litter and leaves on lawns and groundcover beds, check mulch in beds and replace where necessary. Check all planted areas for water requirements. Hand weed beds for winter.
(3) December 2026: Clean up all litter and leaves. Check all planted areas for water requirements.
(4) January 2027: Remove debris or litter from planting areas. Check tree staking for tightness and adjust if necessary. Mulch shrub and tree beds as needed to replenish mulch to 3-inch level. Replace any dead or damaged trees or shrubs. Replacement trees and shrubs will be determined by agency. Check moisture of all planted areas and water if needed.
(5) February 2027: Inspect plants, trees, and shrubs and remove damaged or dead wood. Remove any debris or litter from planted areas as needed. Apply pre-emerge herbicides to plant beds to prevent weeds (ex. Treflan or Surflan) Provide moisture to all planted areas as needed. Spot spray any existing weeds with Round-Up.
(6) March 2027: Remove litter on all lawn areas. Check moisture level in all planted areas. Remove all winter damage. Hand weed all bed areas as needed. Fertilize all trees and grounds.
(7) April 2027: Fertilize all lawn areas. Hand weed all plant beds as needed. Inspect all planted areas and remove any dead plants and replace them. Replacement plants to be determined by agency. Inspect all shrubs and trees and prune any dead limbs. Spot spray any weed problem areas (shrub bed, paver areas) with Round-Up. Inspect all plant material (shrubs and trees) for insects and/or disease and treat as necessary. Inspect all plant material (shrubs and trees) for insects and/or disease and treat as necessary.
(8) May 2027: Spot spray for weeds in all shrub beds with Round-Up. Weed all bed areas as necessary. Prune any damaged plants. Fertilize all bed areas.
(9) June 2027: Spot spray for weeds in all shrub beds with Round-Up. Weed all bed areas as necessary. Clean up litter on all lawn areas. Inspect all lawn and planted areas for insects and/or disease and treat as necessary. Prune any damaged plants.
(10) July 2027: Hand weed all bed areas as needed. Spot spray for weeds in all shrub beds with Round-Up. Clean up litter on all hard surface and lawn areas. Prune any damaged plants. Treat any lawn or planted areas for insects and/or disease. Check tree and shrub areas for mulch replacement; replace if needed.
(11) August: 2027: Hand weed all bed areas as needed. Spot spray for weeds in all planted areas with Round-Up. Prune any damaged plants.
(12) September 2027: Hand weed all bed areas as needed. Clean up litter on lawn areas. Prune any damaged plants. Apply pre-emergent to all bed areas (ex. Treflan).
