Bidders are hereby notified that this Addendum shall be made a part of the documents. The intent is to add to, modify, or clarify
the documents. Should any of these items have an effect on price, such changes shall be included in the price bid. These items
have the same force and effect as if contained in the original.
ITEM 1: QUESTION/ANSWER
Q1. Will irrigation plans be available for use in bidding? If not, please see the following irrigation questions:
a) Will the Bahia sod be irrigated?
b) What is the water source (well, potable meter, reclaimed, etc.)?
c) If well, what is the GPM/PSI?
d) What is the size of the water source?
e) Where is the water source located?
A1. No permanent irrigation is proposed. The contractor is responsible for watering landscape until it is established. The
establishment period will be 90 days after project completion. Please refer to revised Landscape Plans.
a) No, but sod needs to be watered by the contractor until it is established in accordance with revised Landscape Plans.
b) Water source is potable meter.
c) N/A
d) For the size of water source, see Civil Utility Plan, Sheet 14.
e) For the location of water source, see Civil Utility Plan, Sheet 14.
Q2. The civil site plan sheet 6 shows 'future kiosk (by others)', but bid schedule contains a line item for a kiosk (item A-2).
Please confirm if this kiosk is part of the current project scope. If so, please provide a specification.
A2. Correction on Bid Form, page 48 - Summary of Pay Items: Please strike through lines for Bid Item A-2 KIOSK and A-2A Kiosk.
Sheet 6 of the Civil Plans is correct.
Q3. Is there a Geo Report for the pile penetrations on the marine side?
A3. A rock probe survey was conducted to ascertain the presence of subsurface rock. No rock was found at locations probed.
See Sheet 3 of the Marine Plans for further details.
Q4. What is the minimum embedment for the Truline Panels? All I see is a note that says 8ft long min.
A4. Truline piles associated with the retaining walls shall be a minimum of 8ft long. If refusal is encountered, contractor shall
notify County and Engineer for approval prior to cutting pile. No more than three (3) consecutive piles shall be less than 8ft
in length. Truline piles associated with the CIP concrete access walkways shall be a minimum of 4ft long as shown on the
revised Marine Plans.
Q5. What are the CIP/Concrete Vinyl Sheet Piles and the Vinyl sheet piles/grout in the bid schedule in reference to?

A5. Bid Item No. M-5H CIP Concrete/Vinyl Sheet Piles refers to the cast-in-place concrete access walkways with integrated
vinyl sheet piles. Bid Item No. M-5I Vinyl Sheet Piles/Grout refers to the vinyl sheet piles installed parallel to the pre-cast
boat ramp slabs and the required grout.
Q6. Drawings call for an Aluminum scab plate. Aluminum cannot be in contact with treated lumber it will corrode
rapidly. Please have this changed to timber.
A6. Aluminum scab plate shall be insulated from pressure treated lumber by 0.60 mil high density polyethylene sheeting.
Refer to Sheet 9 of the Marine Plans for notes associated with Aluminum Scab Plate.
Q7. IPE lumber is being used in the handrail and being mixed with composite railing. IPE is incredibly costly. Please
consider changing to standard treated timbers.
A7. Stanchions are to be IPE.
Q8. There are precast panels for the boat ramp and for the seawall. On sheet # 8 it shows a 16ft panel. My understanding
is that the seawall is 8ft tall panels where do the 16ft tall seawall panels go?
A8. The seawall requires 16ft precast panels (Marine Plans Sheet 8). The terminal ends of the concrete access walkways
associated with the boat ramp require 8ft precast bulkhead panels (Marine Plans Sheet 7).
Q9. Sheet #7, Are the precast panels for the ramp required to have the traction pattern or just the CIP concrete?
A9. The traction pattern is required on precast ramp panels and the CIP concrete as shown on sheet 6 of the Marine Plans.
Q10. Sheet #7 (D-D) Are we to lay down a layer of grout prior to installing pre-cast panel or are we just filling the holes till
they run out?
A10. Precast ramp panels are to be installed prior to grouting. Refer to Sheet 6 of the Marine Plans for details on the grouting
process.
Q11. In the Special Provisions, SP-21, notes "The General Contractor may sublet portions of the work but shall perform with
his own organization not less than 51% of the total Contract work scheduled." This clause will significantly reduce the
number of GC's that can bid on the project. Can the required percentage be reduced to allow more general contractors
to be able to submit a bid on the project? Or will this requirement be enforced as written?
A11. Due to the complex nature of the project pertaining to marine construction, the County has decided to keep the 51% requirement.
Q12. Is the reinforcement rebar uncoated?
A12. All reinforcing steel shall be hot dipped galvanized as noted on the Marine Plans.
