TAYLOR AML RECLAMATION PROJECT
Southwest 1/4 of Section 11, Township 72 North, Range 14 West, Wapello County, Iowa
BID NO. IA-166

Sealed bids will be received by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, Division of Soil Conservation and Water Quality, 1305 East Walnut Street, Des Moines, Iowa, 50319, until 3:00 p.m. local time, on the 29th day of August, 2025 and opened at a public meeting and read aloud on the date last mentioned.

A pre-bid conference will be held on August 14, 2025 at 1:00 p.m., ISU Extension Office, 13011 120th Avenue, Ottumwa, Iowa, 52501, telephone: 641-682-5491. Attendance at the pre-bid conference by prospective bidders is not mandatory but is encouraged.

In general, the work involves, but is not limited to clearing and grubbing, excavation, terrace construction, waterway construction, wetland construction, neutralization of acid water and soil, erosion stabilization, and seeding. The project consists of the following approximate quantities of work: 9.0 acres of clearing and grubbing, 18,090 cubic yards of excavation, 2,025 cubic yards of undercut excavation, 7,224 cubic yards of impervious fill, 528 linear feet of tile, 126 linear feet of 48-inch diameter of steel reinforced polyethylene pipe, one 72-inch diameter steel reinforced polyethylene drop spillway, 908 ton of Class E Revetment, 8.7 acres of seeding, and miscellaneous appurtenant work normally associated with a coal mine reclamation project. The estimated cost of construction for this project is: $371,000 to $410,000.

The Plans and Construction Specifications governing the construction of the proposed improvements have been prepared by French-Reneker-Associates, Inc. and are hereby made a part of this notice by reference and the proposed Contract shall be executed in compliance therewith. This project shall comply with Davis-Bacon Wage Requirements. COPIES OF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING PLANS, CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS, AND BID PACKAGE, ARE ONLY AVAILABLE THROUGH THE WEBSITE LINK - Requests for Bids and Proposals | Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (iowaagriculture.gov). In order to be included on the plan holders list, which is required to receive meeting minutes, addenda and an updated plan holders list, interested bidders must make a written or verbal request to Stephen I.
