Bid Notice- Electronic Bid- Bid # 250008 Algonquin Road Sewer Capacity Improvement

The Village of Arlington Heights will accept sealed bids electronically for the ALGONQUIN ROAD SEWER CAPACITY IMPROVEMENTS (bid name) until 10:00 AM local time on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

The project involves installing 2,704 feet of 24-inch PVC pipe along westbound Algonquin Road between Busse Road and South Cedar Glen Drive, 693 feet of 8-inch PVC pipe on Dempster Street between Busse Road and West Algonquin Road, and 23 feet of 12-inch VCP pipe at the intersection of Busse Road and westbound Algonquin Road. The scope of work includes providing all necessary materials, labor, and equipment for the construction of new sanitary sewers using open-cut excavation, constructing new manholes, reconnecting laterals, abandoning the existing sanitary sewer, restoring roadways, implementing traffic control measures, and completing any other miscellaneous tasks required to finish this improvement in accordance with the Plans, Standard Specifications, and Special Provisions.

A Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 9:00 AM in the Public Works Training Room, Village of Arlington Heights, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL  60005

Bidders shall comply with the Prevailing Wage Rate Act (820 ILCS 130/), the IDOT Standard. Bidders will also be required to comply with the applicable equal employment opportunity provisions.

Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, adopted January 1, 2022, and the IDOT Supplemental Specifications and Recurring Special Provisions, adopted January 1, 2025. Bidders will also be required to comply with the applicable equal employment opportunity provisions.

The Affidavit of Availability must be submitted with the proposal, showing all uncompleted contracts awarded to them and all low bids pending award for Federal, State, County, Municipal and private work.

All proposals or bids offered must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 10% of the total bid in the form of a certified check, bid bond or cashier’s check made payable to the Village of Arlington Heights. No bids shall be considered unless accompanied by such security.

The Village of Arlington Heights reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive informalities in bidding and to accept the proposal deemed by the Board of Trustees to be the most favorable to the interests of the Village.
