TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. As-is, where-is sale. All items are sold "as is, where is," without warranty or representation as to condition or fitness
for a particular purpose. Petersburg Borough is not responsible for representations or statements concerning an item, its
prior use, condition, or suitability for its intended or customary purpose.
2. Inspection and bidder responsibility. Item preview is highly recommended, and bidding without previewing is
strongly discouraged. Unless otherwise stated, working condition is unknown. Bidders are solely responsible for
researching and inspecting items and confirming their type, condition, status, history, and suitability before bidding. The
Borough does not guarantee that a vehicle can be legally registered in any state or country.
3. No refunds or returns. All sales are final. Under no circumstances will refunds or returns be accepted.
4. Bid submission. Each sealed bid must state the bidder's name, address, phone number, bid amount, and the item
being bid on. Submit a separate bid amount for each item. The outside of the envelope must be marked "Public Works
Auction Bid."
5. Delivery of bids. Bids may be delivered in person to the Public Works Office, 303 South 2nd Street, or mailed to
Petersburg Borough Public Works Department - Public Works Auction Bid, PO Box 329, Petersburg, AK 99833. Bids
may not be submitted verbally, by email, or by fax. No bid received after Friday, September 11, 2026, at 12:59 p.m. AKDT
will be accepted. The bidder assumes all risk of late delivery.
6. Award. Award will generally be made to the highest responsive bidder meeting or exceeding any stated reserve.
Petersburg Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive minor informalities, withdraw an item before award,
or cancel the auction when in the Borough's best interest.
7. Payment. Payment is due within two weeks of notification of the winning bid. A 3% service fee will be applied to credit-
card purchases.
8. Removal. Purchased property must be removed from Borough property no later than two weeks after payment is
made. The buyer is responsible for loading, transportation, permits, insurance, and related costs. An item not removed
within two weeks will be impounded and may be subject to impound fees and possible destruction or disposal.
9. Failure to complete purchase. If the winning bidder fails to make payment, the item may be awarded to the next-
highest responsive bidder. The Borough may cancel the award or dispose of the item by another lawful method.
10. Titles and documentation. Available title, bill-of-sale, or ownership documentation will be provided as stated in the
item listing. The buyer is responsible for taxes, registration, licensing, and transfer fees.
