Title: FEMA Project #711041 - Winter Storm Damage Repairs - de Dampierre Park Parking Lot
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 6/4/2026
Due Date: 6/22/2026
In early 2023 the MPRPD property of de Dampierre Park suffered significant storm damage and flooding. The adjacent parking lot was particularly affected and MPRPD lacks the heavy equipment to complete the necessary repairs.
MPRPD is requesting bids from qualified contractors to address damages, effect repairs, and restore property to pre-existing conditions.
This is a FEMA funded project. MPRPD needs to complete these repairs before the end of September 2026.
During the period of Dec. 27, 2022, to Jan 31, 2023, Monterey County experienced heavy rains and flooding which caused the Carmel River to overtop its banks.
774.67 CY of the parking areas were stripped of their gravel surface, and wooden parking wheel stops were swept away.
De Dampierre Park Parking Lot is within the 100-year floodplain of the Carmel River. In March 2026, the District completed all regulatory requirements to allow this project to proceed.
