NOTICE INVITING BIDS PURSUANT TO PUBLIC CONTRACT CODE 22000, ET SEQ.

(THE UNIFORM PUBLIC CONSTRUCTION COST ACCOUNTING ACT)

Notice is hereby given that the Fresno Unified School DISTRICT (“DISTRICT”) will receive sealed bids for Bid No. 26-51, McCardle Elementary School Playground Replacements and New Shade Structures, to replace the existing primary play equipment with unused equipment from Farber Educational Center, and OFCI new safety surfacing and shade structures. The additive alternate is to replace the kindergarten play equipment with OFCI district standard equipment, new safety surfacing, and shade structure.

Prime Contractor must have a valid Class “B” Contractor’s License.

The time allowed for completion for the project shall be 90 Calendar days.

The Architect/Engineers’ estimate for this project is around $1,860,000 inclusive of add alternate (estimate as of March 2026).

A MANDATORY pre-bid conference has been scheduled at 10:00 AM, April 22, 2026 in front of the Administration Office at McCardle Elementary School, 577 E. Sierra Ave., Fresno, CA 93710.  Contractors bidding as a Prime Contractor for the project must attend in order for their bid to be “responsive”.  Immediately following the pre-bid conference will be a mandatory job-walk of the site(s). All visitors must check-in at the school office using our visitor management system which requires ID verification via government-issued identification card or driver’s license to receive a badge and enter the campus. Bidders may arrive earlier than the scheduled time to obtain their badge.

This Project is estimated to be over $1,000,000 and is subject to prequalification, in accordance with Public Contract Code 20111.6. Prequalification applications are to be submitted through Quality Bidders at https://www.qualitybidders.com/ no later than  11:59 PM, April 28, 2026.

Sealed Bids must be received prior to 2:00 P.M. on May 13, 2026 on Procureware, the DISTRICT’s online bidding portal, after which time the bids will be opened and bid results posted.

Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check, or a bidder’s bond in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of total bids made payable to Fresno Unified.

The District reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, or any combination of bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities which may be legally waived.
