The County of Marin is inviting qualified consulting firms to submit a statement of qualifications
(SOQ) to provide on‐call construction management services to support the Department of Public
Works Construction Division. DPW will select two or more construction management firms
(‘Consultant’) with which to execute a Professional Services contract for “on‐ call” work and work
under the supervision of a project manager in the Construction Division (‘County’).
The Department of Public Works’ Construction Division is tasked with providing Construction
administration for the County’s Capital Improvement (CIP), and Road and Bridge programs which
provide for maintenance and improvements to most County owned buildings, Roads, and Bridges.
In order to ensure the successful delivery of its project portfolio, the Division is seeking construction
phase support for various small and medium sized public works projects. Typical project work
scopes include mechanical, electrical, plumbing and life‐safety system upgrades, roof replacements
and waterproofing, accessibility upgrades, interior renovations, site improvements, paving, roadway
concrete work, slope stabilization work, bridge/retaining wall rehabilitation and construction,
roadway signal and lighting, and roadway excavation.
The contract shall remain active for a period of three years with a total program budget of $1,670,000
to be made available to the selected firms. A task request form will be issued separately on a projectby‐
project basis, each including a separate scope and fee as appropriate.
Plans, specifications, and estimates are prepared by County staff and/or engineering consultants.
Advertising, bidding and project award will also be completed by County staff; however, the
Consultant should be capable of providing pre‐bidding constructability reviews of the contract
documents.
