Accessories
1. General Requirements
The University of Southern Mississippi is soliciting sealed bids for the procurement and delivery of
double-wall insulated vertical towers and associated accessories for installation at the Oyster
Hatchery and Research Center (OHRC), currently under construction at the Gulf Coast Research
Laboratory Cedar Point Campus.
The double-wall insulated vertical towers shall be new, unused, and of current manufacture. All
equipment furnished shall meet or exceed the specifications contained herein.
Reference to a preferred manufacturer, vendor, or model number is intended solely to establish
the minimum quality, performance, and functional requirements of the equipment. Equivalent
products may be considered provided they meet or exceed all listed specifications and
compatibility requirements.
Vendors shall clearly identify any deviations from these specifications in their bid submission.
Final inlet locations, orientations, and connection requirements for each double-wall insulated
vertical tower will be provided by the University following contract award and prior to fabrication.
The awarded vendor shall accommodate these requirements to ensure compatibility with facility
plumbing and installation requirements.
2.Intended Application
The double-wall insulated vertical towers will be utilized in marine aquaculture operations for
applications including, but not limited to, artificial seawater preparation, brine storage, dissolved
oxygen systems, wastewater handling, salinity monitoring, and other hatchery support functions.
Each tower shall be specifically designed for aquaculture and marine environments and
constructed using materials that are corrosion resistant, chemically compatible with seawater and
associated treatment chemicals, and suitable for long-term service in a commercial hatchery
facility.
