Description
The Department of National Research Council (NRC) needs one (1) Rotating Device for Inner Diameter High Velocity Oxy-Fuel (HVOF) Spray System. The objective is to acquire a motor and motion system, mounted on a robot, to spin the torch head of a miniaturized HVOF system in accordance with specific technical and performance requirements. This will enable coating deposition in inner diameter parts, which cannot be rotated by themselves.
The rotation motion is necessary to apply a coating on the entire circumference of the inner surface. For that purpose, the system shall allow the delivery of the process gases and cooling water during rotation. The system should be sufficiently robust to maintain centricity and precise control of the spray jet during operation, shall not be degrading prematurely, last multiple days of operation without maintenance, and should allow interfacing, control and monitoring of the torch position and rotation speeds.
The successful delivery of this rotating device will enhance the laboratory's capacity for conducting development of industrially relevant coating solutions and contribute to improved research outcomes and impact.
The system is to be delivered 26 weeks after contract award.
The estimated contract period will be 5 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2026/02/09.
A contracting officer can use limited tendering for specific reasons outlined in the applicable trade agreements. The reason for this contract is described below:
