This Project consists of the improvements to Bull’s Head Revitalization, where the limits of construction work are defined as follows:

  • West Main Street from the intersection with Chili Avenue and West Avenue
    to Churchlea Place
  • West Avenue from Algonquin Terrace to the intersection with Chili Avenue
    and West Main Street
  • Chili Avenue from Ardmore Street to the intersection with West Avenue and West Main Street
  • Brown Street from West Main Street to Eddy Street
  • Genesee Street from West Main Street to Clifton Street
  • Realignment of Brown Street into the extended Genesee Street
  • York Street from West Avenue to the intersection with Danforth Street and Silver Street (to be renamed to Danforth Street)
  • Silver Street (to be renamed Danforth Street) from York Street to the intersection with Taylor Street and extended Genesee Street

The scope of the work consists of correcting operational issues, enhancing pedestrian and bicycle safety, and upgrading infrastructure. The Project includes, but is not limited to, a combination of new street construction, pavement reconstruction and rehabilitation, milling and resurfacing, realignment of intersecting streets, curbs, sidewalks, street lighting improvements, water main installation, water services and hydrants, sewer main extensions, catch basins, manholes, adjustment of utility appurtenances, traffic signal system upgrades, new pavement markings, signage enhancements, landscaping, the addition of bicycle facilities and other various improvements as funding allows. RG&E Electric will have phased construction throughout the duration of the street construction that will require the Street Contractor to coordinate RG&E work with the street construction.

A key feature of the project is the realignment and extension of Genesee Street north of West Main Street to form a new intersection with Brown Street, and the new connection from Genesee Street to Silver Street. This reconfiguration will improve traffic operations, eliminate skewed intersections, and enhance multimodal connectivity.
