University of Southern Mississippi - Aquaculture Facility Equipment
1. General Requirements
The University of Southern Mississippi is soliciting sealed bids for the purchase and delivery of peristaltic
pump drives, pump heads, mounting hardware, tubing, fittings, and related fluid-handling components for
use in aquaculture and research systems.
All equipment and materials shall be new, unused, of current production, and supplied in the manufacturer's
standard commercial packaging. Refurbished, demonstration, used, or prototype equipment is not
acceptable.
The manufacturer and model numbers identified herein are the preferred products and establish the
minimum standard of design, function, quality, compatibility, and performance required. Equivalent products
may be offered unless otherwise restricted by the solicitation.
Where an equivalent product is offered, the bidder shall provide sufficient manufacturer literature, technical
data, dimensional information, compatibility documentation, and model-specific specifications to
demonstrate that the proposed product meets or exceeds every applicable requirement. The University
reserves sole discretion to determine equivalency and acceptability.
All components offered as equivalents must be mutually compatible with the associated drives, pump
heads, tubing sizes, fittings, controls, and operating conditions identified in these specifications. Any
adapters, mounting hardware, cables, or accessories required to provide a complete and functional
equivalent configuration shall be included in the bid price.
2. Intended Application
The equipment will support continuous and intermittent liquid transfer, dosing, circulation, and research
operations within recirculating aquaculture and related laboratory/process systems. Equipment must be
suitable for the stated fluid-handling duty and for repeated operation in a humid aquaculture environment.
Washdown-rated equipment shall meet the IP rating specified for the applicable line item.

5.Equivalency and Submittal Documentation
Bidders proposing the preferred manufacturer and exact model number may identify the model offered and
provide standard product literature sufficient to confirm the bid configuration.
Bidders proposing an alternate or equivalent product shall submit a point-by-point comparison to the
applicable requirements in Section 4. The comparison shall clearly identify all deviations, exceptions,
substitutions, or accessory requirements.
Failure to provide sufficient documentation for an alternate product may result in the University being unable
to determine equivalency. Statements that a product is simply "equal" or "comparable" without supporting
model-specific documentation are not sufficient.
The University may consider compatibility with the other listed components and the intended system
configuration when determining whether an alternate product is acceptable.
6.Delivery, Packaging, and Acceptance
All items shall be delivered complete, undamaged, and in manufacturer packaging with model and catalog
identification clearly visible. Tubing and fittings shall be supplied in the package lengths and quantities
specified.
Bid pricing shall include all standard accessories and hardware necessary for the specified configuration
unless an item is expressly listed as a separate bid line.
The University reserves the right to inspect delivered items for model identity, quantity, condition, and
compliance with the technical specifications before final acceptance. Nonconforming items shall be replaced
by the vendor at no additional cost to the University.
The bidder shall identify any known lead time, backorder status, discontinued model, superseding model, or
other condition that could materially affect delivery of the specified items.
