Notice of Planned Procurement: Theodore Spillway Upgrades

It is WSA’s intent to post a public procurement competition on SaskTenders which requires a Contractor to complete major concrete work to the spillway and earthworks around the spillway.

Theodore Dam is located ~ 6 km east of the village of Theodore, SK. The purpose of the project is to complete age- and condition-related major upgrades to the concrete overflow service spillway such that it can provide another ~ 50 years of safe and reliable service.

The work within the spillway is scheduled to start August 1, 2025, and will continue through winter to March 2026 such that the spillway is returned to operational service prior to Spring Freshet 2026.

WSA is a Treasury Board Crown corporation within the meaning of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993 (Saskatchewan) that is governed by The Water Security Agency Act (Saskatchewan). WSA is responsible for water management in the Province of Saskatchewan, which includes managing the Province’s water supply, protecting water quality, ensuring safe drinking water and the treatment of wastewater, reducing flood and drought damage, protecting aquatic habitat, and managing dams and related supply channels.
