Preliminary and Final Highway/Bridge Design and Construction Inspection Services for the Main Street Safety and Accessibility Improvements project, in the Village of Greenwich, Washington County, NY.

Although sidewalks generally exist within the Village core, current conditions pose several issues to pedestrian connectivity: sections of sidewalk are cracked or heaved, large curb cuts create safety issues for pedestrians, a large section of two-tiered sidewalk creates tripping hazards and accessibility issues, and a lack of striping, signs, and signals makes current crossings dangerous and leads to elevated vehicle speeds. From March 2021 to March 2023 there were 18 crashes in the project area, several of which resulted in injuries and the majority due to poor sight lines and elevated speeds.
