HSIP TRAFFIC SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

The City of Milpitas (“City”) is seeking proposals from qualified proposers (“Proposer”) in response to this Request for Proposals (“RFP”) to submit proposals for the Highway Safety Improvement Project (“HSIP”) Traffic Safety Improvement Project, CIP No. 4314 (“Project”). To be considered for this work, Proposer must submit a proposal in accordance with the requirements, specifications, and scope of work provided in this RFP.

The City was awarded $2.064 million in grant funding with a local match of $229,370 by HSIP Cycle 12 federal-aid program (Federal Project No. HSIPL-5314[016]) to implement systemic improvements at the City’s seventy-two (72) signalized intersections and safety improvements at three (3) unsignalized intersections and roadway segment with a history of fatal and severe crashes. Work includes, but not limited to, signal modifications at the City’s 72 intersections by installing signal head reflective backplates and Leading Pedestrian Interval (LPI); installation of signage, daylighting, beacons, etc. at the 3 unsignalized intersections; and safety improvements of a horizontal curve along McCarty Blvd.
