REQUEST FOR FORMAL WRITTEN PROPOSALS FOR CONVERSION OF TENNIS COURTS TO PICKLEBALL COURTS

The City of Saint Peter, Department of Public Works, Parks Section, is requesting formal written proposals for conversion of an  existing battery of two (2) concrete tennis courts to a battery of six (6) pickleball courts, on the existing foot-print.  Area: 108’ x 120’ +/-

Location: Chatham Street and North Fifth Street - Veterans Memorial Park (existing tennis courts).

***Scope of Work - 1: Cost: ________________

  • In the north set of tennis courts, pressure wash and manually scrape selected hard surfaces.
  • Mechanically grind delaminating areas; remove loose materials debris to solid substrate.
  • Identify surface area preparation in detail.
  • Fill and blend cracks using an approved acrylic crack filler.
  • Repair and prime (1-coat of Ti-coat or approved equal two part) visible spalling areas with primer to enhance bonding using Acrylic Patch Binder.
  • Finish Coat to be 100% acrylic emulsion formulated with acrylic resins, mineral fillers, color fast pigments and manufacture’s approved silica sand. Finish coat shall be fully pigmented.
  • Acrylic Resurfacer (silica sand and Portland cement mixture) to be applied at manufacturer ratios and specifications.
  • Patch Mix to be an acrylic court patch binder.
  • Line Paint shall be white, 2” white playing lines per USAPA rules, water-based acrylic emulsion.
  • Be sure to fill-in old tennis pole sleeves during surface preparations.

The approved acrylic surfacing material shall be manufactured by:

4. Laykold Acrylic Resurfacer

5. Advantage Sport Coatings (Vance Brothers)

  • Install divider fencing (to match existing on south battery of courts, black in color and approximately 3’-4’ tall)

  • Approximately 50’ North/South (4 runs)
