MARCONI STEEL LATTICE TOWER REPAIR

The Town of Chatham is soliciting bids for in-place structural repairs to one (of the three) existing steel MAST antenna towers at the historic Marconi site in Chatham, MA. Scope includes structural repairs and spot painting of a steel lattice tower. Work must occur prior to February, 2025. All work shall maintain the historical integrity of the structures and accommodate public access constraints.
The estimated cost of the work is $200,000.
This project is being procured under M.G.L. c.30 §39M and does not require filed sub-bids or DCAMM Certification. This project is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including compliance with prevailing wage rates as stipulated under M.G.L. c.149, §27.

Bids for this project will be accepted from eligible bidders until 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 22, 2025,
and will be publicly opened, forthwith online.
Bid Deposits shall be submitted in the amount of 5% of the bid price including any alternates. The Bid Deposit shall be made payable to the Town of Chatham and shall be either in the form of cash, certified check, treasurer’s or cashier’s check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, or a bid bond issued by a surety licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; and shall be conditioned upon the faithful performance by the principal of the agreement contained in the bid.
The successful general bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment bond which shall be in the amount equal to hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in the bidding process, and to award the contract in the best interest of the Town.
