Project Description: Request for Qualifications/Proposals (RFQ/P): Multi-Family, Mixed-Use Development in Salt Lake City’s Granary District at the "Fleet Block"
Salt Lake City is seeking development teams to submit innovative proposals for a multi-family, mixed-use project on City-owned land in the Granary District — one of the fastest-growing, transit-rich, and walkable neighborhoods in the city.
The Fleet Block site is located just minutes from downtown, at the crossroads of two major bike corridors, and adjacent to the Central Ninth District — a vibrant neighborhood with local coffee shops, bars, restaurants and nonprofits. This is a rare opportunity to shape one Salt Lake City’s key urban hubs.
The City has already taken a number of steps to kick off the redevelopment process including:
Securing $3.9 million for mid-block street construction
Beginning community engagement for a new public open space on the block
Rezoning the parcels to a form-based district that allows for mixed-use development up to 85 feet by right.
Developers interested in a collaborative, community-informed approach with relevant experience are encouraged to apply. For full details and submission instructions, please refer to the Supporting Documentation. Potential applicants are encouraged to attend the virtual informational session on April 22nd at 1:00 PM.
Responses may be uploading to bonfire, email, mail, or hand delivery – are due no later than May 30, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Responses that do not exceed 25 megabytes (25 MB) may be delivered via email in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format.
