The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a set aside for certified
small business contractors for the Bourne Bridge Paving Repairs located in the Cape Cod
Canal in Bourne, Massachusetts. The NAICS code for the work described below is 237310. The
project is planned to be issued in October 2025 and will be set aside for Small Businesses. The
period of performance will be 450 days. The estimated magnitude of this project is between
$1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
Work will include replacing the existing 2-inch thick bituminous concrete pavement on the
Bourne Bridge with new superpave waterproofing surface course pavement. The area of
pavement to be replaced is approximately 2,366 feet long by 40 feet wide. In addition to the
paving work, the contract will also include replacement of compression strip seals at six of the
bridge joints within the paving area. Potential bidders shall note that work on the bridge decks
is not allowed the third weekend in May through Labor Day weekend, inclusive of any year.
Traffic control with lane restrictions will be necessary for the project, and therefore close
coordination with USACE and external parties, such as Massachusetts Department of Transportation
(MADOT), will be required for successful completion of the project.
Please note that this solicitation is set aside for certified small businesses. This is not a
request for proposals at this time; the solicitation requirements and contract documents
which will include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or
about October 2025. Neither telephonic, mailed, nor faxed requests for hard copies of this
solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to view the
solicitation offerors must access the System for Award Management website (www.sam.gov).

Enterprise Environment (https://piee.eb.mil/). All responsible sources may submit a bid which
