NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE SOLE SOURCE AWARD

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Indian Health Service (IHS), Bemidji Area intends to award a Firm Fixed Priced Contract on a sole source basis to GENERAL ELECTRIC PRECISION HEALTHCARE for CASS LAKE INDIAN HEALTH SERVICE HOSPITAL, CASS LAKE, MN. The anticipated period of performance will be for a Base plus 4 Option Years.

The sole source action will be issued under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 12, Commercial Products and Commercial Services and FAR 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Only one source reasonably available due Cass Lake Service Unit’s use of GE radiology devices and equipment. GE Precision Healthcare is the software manufacturer of the devices and equipment in use by the Cass Lake Service Unit that require service and maintenance support, software security updates, patches and software updates that can only be supplied by the manufacturer. The service requirement is unique to GE and no other vendors have the proprietary data and licensing rights for software upgrades and service on the GE System.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811210 – Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance. Small business size standard of $34M.
