Project Description: North Belle Vernon Borough is proposing to replace existing and install new sanitary sewer infrastructure to better serve the residents on the 400 block of Hill Street. Sanitary sewer infrastructure will be installed at two locations: Hill Street and Grape Alley. The contractor shall verify the locations and inverts of all existing sanitary sewer infrastructure and other existing utilities in the project area.
Hill Street Scope of Work:
Approximately 135 linear feet of existing 8-inch diameter terra cotta sanitary sewer pipe will be replaced in-kind with new 8-inch diameter PVC pipe. The new sewer main will connect to an existing manhole and terminate at a new manhole to be installed. Three (3) new sanitary laterals serving the residences at 409 Hill Street, 413 Hill Street, and 423 Hill Street will be installed and connected. The existing laterals serving these residences will be cut and replaced. Two (2) existing sanitary laterals serving the residences at 406 Hill Street and 418 Hill Street will be reconnected to the new manhole. All sanitary laterals will be 4-inch diameter PVC pipe. This work may require site clearing to remove site features prior to trench excavation.
Grape Alley Scope of Work:
Approximately 80 linear feet of new PVC sanitary sewer main and a new manhole will be installed on Grape Alley. The new sewer main will extend from the new manhole and terminate at an existing manhole at the intersection of Grape Alley and Stone Alley. One (1) new 4-inch diameter PVC sanitary lateral serving the residence at 427 Hill Street will be installed and connected to the new manhole.
In general, the work consists of, but is not limited to: pipe trench excavation, removal of existing terra cotta sanitary sewer pipe, installation of new PVC sanitary sewer pipes, installation of new sanitary manholes, installation of new sanitary laterals, connection of existing and proposed sanitary laterals, trench backfill, asphalt roadway restoration, concrete sidewalk restoration, and grassed lawn restoration. The work also includes mobilization and maintenance and protection of traffic as necessary to perform the work.
