Description

The Nation is seeking an immediate and long-term office space needs assessment that will provide a framework for decision making for the organization for the next 10 years.
With the expected population growth of the community and the demand for services and programming increasing, the Nation is finding that office space at our Band Administration Office site increasingly limited. The plan should provide solutions achieved through a strategy that includes processes such as renovation, redevelopment and expansion to existing spaces and buildings.

Developing an office space needs assessment will have organizational-wide impacts. It will be important for the process to include input and feedback from all departments, particularly regarding current constraints and opportunities. Identifying staff placements and workspace requirements are an integral part of the planning process.
The process of developing a long-term plan should include:
• Inventory of current facilities
• Review of current facilities including conditions, utilization, and potential impact of additional growth on needs over the next 10 years
• Review of current and expected service and program requirements
• Review of trends/best practices related to facilities use
• Review of space standards to accommodate staffing as it exists today and as growth occurs
• Survey/feedback/workshops from/with all departments on utilization, workspace constraints and opportunities
• Review of statutory requirements
• Review of opportunities for shared facilities/facility renovations to increase capacity
