LANDSCAPE PROTECTION PLAN
Contractors shall protect all existing grass, plants, shrubs, and other landscaping features surrounding the building during all exterior work. At no time shall vehicles or equipment be driven on grass without the placement of adequate ground protection. Contractors must use plywood, ground mats, or other approved protective materials to prevent rutting, soil compaction, or damage to turf.

All plants, shrubs, and landscaping elements located in areas where chemicals will be applied must be fully covered when possible or otherwise shielded to prevent chemical burns or overspray. Only chemical products that are verified as non‑harmful to grass and vegetation may be used near landscaped areas. Contractors shall provide a complete list of all chemicals to be used, including the exact product names and the percentage solution at which each will be applied, prior to beginning any work.

During any chemical application, all grass and plants within the exposure zone must be kept wet to reduce the risk of damage from chemical contact. Contractors are responsible for continuously monitoring these areas and ensuring proper protection throughout the duration of the work. Any grass or plant material damaged because of contractor activities shall be repaired or replaced at the contractor’s expense.

Work should be planned in a way that if lifts are used, they are large enough to reach the building without damaging or removing trees, large shrubs, or any of the landscaping. In areas that this is not possible, drones or repelling may be necessary. The vegetation touching the building can be pruned back by the landscape crew when needed. If any damage does occur, it should be reported to a point of contact immediately.
