Deck Porch, Stairs, and Ramp Replacement Project
(CCSO Firing Range Bldg. 1 and Bldg. 2)
GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS:
**PLEASE NOTE: Chatham County does not utilize third parties to obtain bids on its behalf.**
Chatham County is soliciting competitive bids from qualified contractors to provide all
materials, supplies, equipment, tools, and labor required for the deck porch, stairs, and ramp
replacement project at the Chatham County Sheriff Office (CCSO) Firing Range Bldg. 1, and
Bldg. 2. Bid will be awarded as a one-time contract.
AN ONSITE PRE-BID CONFERENCE and site visit has been scheduled to discuss the
specifications and to resolve any questions and/or misunderstanding that may arise. The pre-bid
conference will be held on MAY 27, 2026, at 10:00AM, in the Multi-Purpose Building at the
Chatham County Sheriff Office Firing Range, 1050 Carl Griffin Dr., Savannah, Georgia 31405
(follow the "Chatham County Range Facility" signs, that are red with white lettering).
Potential bidders are encouraged to attend. This will be a walk-through, allowing
contractors to obtain accurate measurements. All measurements and verification of
existing site conditions are the responsibility of the contractor. There will be no reliance on
the County to provide dimensions. These factors should be considered prior to submitting
bids.

an Addendum.
SPECIFICATIONS:
SECTION I. REQUIREMENTS:
1. Contractor must provide references from owners of at least three (3) projects with
similar scope of work. Include government owners if possible. If the contractor has
performed any work for the Chatham County Board of Commissioners within the
last five (5) years, at least one (1) of the three (3) owner references must be from
the appropriate party within the Chatham County Government. References must
include previous experience with proven effectiveness in providing services as
specified in this ITB.
2. All work and services will be performed in accordance with any and all Federal,
State, and Local codes, laws, ordinances, and regulations. It is the Contractor's
responsibility to be knowledgeable of any and all regulations pertaining to this BID

and scope of work.
3. Maintain the minimum limits of insurance as specified in ITB Section II. 2.15.2.
NO EXCEPTIONS. The coverage shall be maintained for the duration of the
contract. This shall be the standard for the duration of the contract.
4. At time of contract award, the awarded contractor will be required to provide a
current Occupational Tax Certificate (Business License) from any municipality or
county within the State of Georgia. This shall be the standard for the duration
of the contract (Reference ITB Section II.2.14).
SECTION II. SPECIFICATIONS:
1. If any of the work and/or services is found defective or not in accordance with
applicable codes and standards, the contractor shall correct the work and/or services
promptly, at no cost to the County, and to the satisfaction of the County.
2. All materials, supplies, equipment, tools, labor, shipping, freight, and delivery must
be included in LUMP SUM bid price.
3. Awarded contractor will be responsible to verify all measurements.
SECTION III. SCOPE OF WORK:
1. Provide all materials, supplies, equipment, tools, and labor required for the deck
porch, stairs, and ramp replacement project at the Chatham County Sheriff Office
(CCSO) Firing Range Bldg. 1, and Bldg. 2.
Scope shall include, but is not limited to:
Removal and replacement of identified deck porch, stairs, and ramp at the
specified locations.
Install new 6x6 post and set in concrete.
Build new lattice under deck framing.
Ramps shall meet all specification requirements and guidelines of the American
Disability Act (ADA).
2. Materials shall be new, free of defects, and suitable for the intended use.
WOOD: all wood shall be treated lumber.

3. DEBRIS:
Contractor will be solely responsible to complete a final cleanup of the areas and
remove all debris and shall ensure that disposal of debris is in accordance with all
applicable federal, state, county, and municipal laws, codes and regulations.

SECTION V. BID AWARD/ DELIVERY/ TIMEFRAME:
1. Bid will be awarded as a one-time contract.
2. Time frame: Can begin once bid has been awarded and the "Notice to Proceed"
letter has been issued.
3. WORK SHALL BEGIN WITHIN TEN (10) DAYS AFTER RECEIPT OF
"NOTICE TO PROCEED". COMPLETION DATE SHALL BE WITHIN
(90) NINETY CALENDAR DAYS AFTER THE (10) TEN-DAY PERIOD.
4. Delivery, and install address: Chatham County Sheriff Office Firing Range, 1050
Carl Griffin Dr., Savannah, Georgia 31405 (follow the "Chatham County Range
Facility" signs, that are red with white lettering).

At least (3) days advance notice will need to be made prior to delivery.
During the bidding process, bidders are not to contact "Delivery POC"
directly.
SECTION VI. WORK HOURS:
1. Contractor must coordinate all work with the Project Manager. During the
bidding process, bidders are not to contact Project Manager directly.

2. Scheduling will only be coordinated after bid has been awarded.
Once work is scheduled and the schedules are confirmed by both the contractor
and the Project Manager, it is critical that the contractor adheres to the schedule
and performs the work in a timely fashion.
3. Work under this contract shall be performed during normal working hours on
regular working days of the trade unless approved by the Project Manager or
his/her designee.
Normal working hours are (7:00 AM) to (4:00 PM) Monday through Friday.
SECTION VII. SITE CONDITIONS:
Work shall be performed within the Chatham County Sheriff Complex secured
area. All Contractors, Sub-Contractors, employees, and their representatives are
required to have a valid Georgia identification card or state issued driver license
which will be surrendered each day and exchanged for a visitors pass for entrance
to Secured Area. A Security Escort will be on site for entrance and exit control.
Limited entrance and exit will be enforced. All vehicles and personnel entering
the Secured Area will be subject to search. No weapons or contraband will be
allowed into the Secured Area. Smoking and tobacco products are not allowed in
the Secure Area and a designated smoking area will be identified. All tools and
equipment must be removed or secured at the end of the day to Chatham County
Sheriff's Staff approval.
