Description

The Protection for Persons in Care Act (the Act) requires that allegations of abuse are reported to PPC and provides for an independent review of reports involving adult Albertans receiving care or support services from publicly funded service providers. The Act also promotes the prevention of abuse. Reporting to the PPC Director, a roster of investigators with relevant knowledge and experience apply clinical and medical understanding of the health care system, administrative investigation process and policies, as well as critical thinking and analysis when reviewing and synthesizing medical records and interview statements.
