MDE, Lead Program is an EPA recognized program. Under this authorization, MDE has agreed to ensure that laboratories performing sampling analysis on lead in paint, dust, and soil for lead are recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency under 15 U.S.C. §2685(b) as accredited under the National Lead Laboratory Accreditation Program. This has been codified under COMAR 26.16.05.12
