Project Description: Provide all labor necessary to replace the hot water storage tank as indicated in the
plans and specifications. The proposed work shall generally include removal, disposal
and replacement of the storage tank per manufacturer’s specifications. Start-up the
system per manufacturer’s recommendations and perform system checks to confirm proper
operations. Submit all data collected to the university of Hawaii facilities
management office, attention: Carl Oshiro prior to request for final inspection. All
work located at St.John, UHM.

Special Instructions

ALL bidders are requested to attend a mandatory site walk-through. A site walk through is
scheduled for 8:00 a.m. on Friday January 9, 2026. Contractors shall meet at the
Physical Plant Mechanical Engineer Office located at 2002 East- West Road. Contract
documents will be distributed at the mandatory walk through. Contractors interested in
bidding this work must contact Carl Oshiro through email ( coshiro6@hawaii.edu), facsimile
(956-5979) or phone (956-0479) to confirm attendance by 4:00 p.m. Thursday January 8,
2026. Contractors who DO NOT attend a mandatory site walk-through will not be allowed to
bid on this work. Contractor is required to provide a cost breakdown at time of bid. The
breakdown must equal to the total cost of the bid. If correct breakdown is not provided at
time of bid, the bid may be disqualified.

Added to scope of work

1. Replace all the gauges at the solar panel

2. Replace the relife valve at the solar panel.

3.Replace the sensor at the solar panel. Make sure it is connected to the DDC system and works properly with the DDC system.

4. Replace the ball valve and the auto air vent at the solar panel.
