Title: Invitation to Bid Three Rivers ADA Entry Door Upgrades
Addenda: 1
Release Date: 12/4/2024
Due Date: 12/24/2024
The Three Rivers Transit Building is utilized by Ben Franklin Transit to provide customer service to the public. Currently the front entrance to the building is not ADA accessible. This project would modify the existing door and hardware and prep the area to install an ADA Actuator to allow for increased functionality for members of the public with access concerns. Work on Three Rivers ADA Door Upgrade is to be completed within sixty (60) working days from notice of award. Once demolition work has begun, Contractor is responsible for keeping the building secured and work completed quickly with little impact to the public or building access. The time from demolition to installation shall be no more than 5 working days and shall be consistent days. If additional time is required, Contractor shall submit a clarification question or ask at the pre-bid meeting. During the demolition time and completion of the door, Contractor is responsible to make the door area secure.
Detailed information regarding materials and specs for the project are located in the attached plans and drawings.
The intent of this project is to replace the existing entryway door, and provide electronic access for customers with disabilities to access the building more easily, following an internal review noting that BFT is not currently compliant. The replacement door will be required to meet Federal and WA state ADA requirements for width, height, and door clearance. This project will also act as a precursor for electronic access control modifications to be completed in a separate project. The expectation is that the doors will be compatible with the DMP Virtual Keypad access control system, with additional details provided by BFT IT department. This will be addressed by integration of coring and wiring matching future upgrades. Work shall be completed during regular business hours, and impact to employee and customer entry should be minimized to the maximum extent possible. In the event that the door should be closed for access for a period of time, BFT requests a 24 hour notification ahead of time in order to ensure proper communication with employees and the public. Contractor will also meet for preinstallation meeting, and regular (weekly) updates are expected via email with progress, issues that have arisen, mitigating factors, and updates to project timeline. The door shall be confirmed functional and accessible before project acceptance.
