Question:
Are the dimensions requirements firm?
Answer: Yes. The space the cabinet will be housed is restricted to the dimensions provided in the solicitation.
Questions:
Can the following salient characteristics be removed:
Cabinet must hold a minimum of 20 scopes.
Cabinet shall be equipped with an information system/control software, color touch screen display, and barcode scanner for tracking purposes of the endoscopes.
Cabinet should have the capability to be expanded if necessary should the needs change for the facility.
Answers:
Cannot be removed. The Endo clinic has 20 scopes on contract and they want all of them ready for use due to the back log of patients that need the procedure. Therefore, they must have a storage cabinet that can handle the requirements of the clinic. Although it is not common for drying units to be able to hold 20 scopes, this is not proprietary to Steris. We know there are others.
Cannot be removed. The barcode scanner will aid in the tracking of the scopes as they are put into the cabinet and when they are taken out for use in the procedure. At times, the clinic is running two rooms. How do you track the scopes?
Yes. We will remove the capability to expand salient (see below).
MINIMUM SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
Cabinet shall be a freestanding cabinet that promotes efficient drying of internal lumens and external surfaces.
Cabinet must hold a minimum of 20 scopes.
Cabinet should plug into a 110V receptacle and not require any special power source.
Equipment when combined must be no wider than the established area for the scope cabinets 58 W x 90 H
Equipment must not exceed 24 D x 85 H x 57 W in accordance with established area.
Must have a door lock function that limits access to authorized users only.
Must use HEPA filtration that removes 99.97% of particulates.
Cabinet shall provide a continuous flow of instrument-grade compressed air within the cabinet and chamber fans to re-circulate the air.
Cabinet shall provide circulation of instrument-grade compressed air through all channels/internal lumens of the flexible endoscopes and should have a pressure relief valve to prevent damage to the endoscopes.
Cabinet shall be equipped with an information system/control software, color touch screen display, and barcode scanner for tracking purposes of the endoscopes.
Scope hang times to be tracked by the model and time put in the cabinet for traceability and documentation.
Cabinet will notify users when the endoscope is nearing its expiration date for hang time.
Cabinet shall meet or exceed all current recommendations and guidelines from AAMI (ST91;2021), AORN (2018) and SGNA.Â
Cabinet shall provide vertical storage for scopes, minimizing contact between stored scopes.
Will have Olympus tubing sets that are configured to the endoscopes that we are currently using that correspond with line items 2 and 3 (see diagrams, attachments A and B).
