Description
The VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Safepoint, LLC of Sanford, FL to provide the Safepointe weapon detection system, to include installation and three years of automated monitoring with subscription for the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Chicago, IL. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. Contract is firm fixed price and the NAICS Code is 334519.
Safepointe provides an AI-based weapons detection system designed for high throughput facilities that allows guests and employees to quickly pass unobtrusively without disruption or the need for security personnel stationed at entrances. This system quickly screens individuals and their bags at a lower overall cost of ownership than manned detectors. The system also provides a real-time detailed alert review summary to predetermined devices located in Police Operations.
