GENERAL BID SPECIFICATIONS
CITY OF MINOT, ND 58701
The City of Minot is exempt from state and federal excise and sales taxes and no amount
for such taxes are to be included in the bid price. The attached bid proposal form shall be
used in submitting the bid.
The City Council reserves, to itself, the right to reject any or all bids and to award the
contract as it deems necessary and in the best interest of the City of Minot.
Delivery of equipment or services contained in the proposal shall be made to the Public
Works Building (1025 31st St. SE), and the price shall be FOB, Minot, North Dakota. The
delivery date shall be specified on the bid
All envelopes must be sealed and marked plainly

Bids will be opened in the office of the City Clerk at the City Hall, 515 2nd Ave. S.W., Minot,
North Dakota at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. Bids received after this time
will be returned, unopened, to the bidder. Bidders are invited to be present at the
opening of bids.

GENERAL
The unit to be furnished under this specification shall be the manufacturer’s newest and
latest models complete as a dual steer truck with right arm automated trash packer. The
unit shall meet or exceed the following specifications. If any supplier is unable to meet
any of the specifications, it shall state in its bid proposal all deviations from the
specifications. Any deviation will be considered as to its cost in relation to necessity. The
City of Minot reserves the right to reject any or all bids as it deems to be in the best
interest of the City. The successful bidder shall submit a copy of the order sheet, to the
Utilities Director, for written approval prior to ordering the unit.
TRUCK SPECIFICATIONS
Engine certified to meet Final Tier 4 emissions
Cummins is preferred but will consider other
Net horsepower shall be not less than 360 HP
Torque will have a minimum of 1,200 ft-lbs
200 amp alternator or greater
Block heater shall be installed
Allison Automatic 6 speed RDS with push button shift control.
Must not have an auto neutral incorporated
with the engagement of PTO

PTO shall be directly mounted to the transmission. The ratios will be
sufficient to operate the packer requirements. The PTO
shall be able to be engaged and disengaged from the driver's seat
of the truck. The control shall be actuated with an illuminated
toggle or push-button type switch.
