Project work includes but is not limited to the design, permitting, construction, and commission of the new Scott Candler WTP Demolition and New Clearwells and High Service Pump Station, which includes the demolition of the existing old filter plant, a new high service pump station, and the addition of two new 10 million gallons of Clearwell water storage with space for an additional 20 million gallons in the future.
The original Scott Candler Filter Plant was built in 1942 and was expanded eight times until the County decided to build a new WTP at the site in 2005 taking the original Filter Plant offline. Though much of the infrastructure is no longer in use, the Old Filter Plant is home for critical infrastructure related to storage and distribution of drinking water including a 3 million-gallon (MG) clearwell and transfer pumping system, High service pump stations (HSPS) 1 and 2, and the five ground storage tanks (GST).
