Questions Regarding KUA Specs:
1. For Item numbers “WIREPRIMARY2”, “WIREPRIMAR10”, and “WIREPRIMAR40”, Neutral configuration not provided in BOM or in specs provided. Please provide either the wire configuration or the CN fraction necessary. 2. In the spec, it is not mentioned whether Red-Stripes are required or not for the cable. Please clarify if red stripes are optional, mandatory, or shall not be included in the cables. 3. According to construction specifications, the cable should be a filled conductor per ICEA T-31-610 guidelines. Under codes and standards for compliance, ICEA T-34-664 is referenced. But no mention of the moisture block requirement underneath between the shield and the jacket specified. Please clarify whether all cables should be made per ICEA T-31-610 and ICEA T-34-664. 4. For the specs with 15KV EPR cables, shield resistance is a test requirement referenced to be tested and reported in CTRs. Please clarify if this is in reference to Volume resistivity test requirements under ICEA S-94-649. In addition, please clarify if this is not required on the TRXLPE cable specs. 5. Reel tolerances: On the cable specs, a ± 5% tolerance is specified. But some of the item descriptions have their own tolerance specified as well, e.g.: “WIRECU500MCM” tolerance of (0-10%), “WIRECU750MCM” tolerance of +5% only. Please clarify which cable tolerance should be followed. 6. Certain specific item descriptions have “with Pulling eyes” specified, even though it’s not mentioned under packaging. Please clarify if this has to be done by the cable manufacturer and whether if it’s required only on specified items. |

1. For all KUA medium-voltage cable including WIREPRIMARY2, WIREPRIMAR10, WIREPRIMAR40, the concentric neutral shall be 1/3 neutral.
2. Red stripes are not required by the KUA cable specifications. If provided by the manufacturer, they are optional. 3. All KUA medium-voltage cable shall comply with ICEA T-31-610 and ICEA T-34-664. The cable shall include water-blocking components, including filled conductor interstices and other water-blocking materials necessary to meet ICEA water migration performance requirements. 4. For all KUA 15 kV primary (EPR & TR-XLPE), the metallic shield (concentric neutral) resistance shall be measured end-to-end on the completed cable length and reported on the CTRs. Semiconducting shield materials shall meet volume resistivity requirements per ICEA S-94-649. 5. The standard cable length tolerance for KUA cable is 0% to +5% (no underrun permitted). 6. Factory-installed pulling eyes are not required for KUA cable. KUA will install its own pulling eyes as required for construction operations. |

Questions Regarding OUC Specs: 1. In the spec, some of the items require a water blocked test to be conducted under ICEA T-31-610, while some of the requires ICEA T-34-664. Please clarify if that shall be followed per case by case specified per items, or one uniform test for overall testing of stock items.
2. In the spec, some of the items require three red stripes, while some of the items do not specify. Please clarify if Red striping should be conducted for selected items in the spec or considered as an overall uniform requirement. 3. ANSI C119.4 Connection Test Report: LS Cable is unable to provide the requested report at this time prior to two weeks before bid opening. Because cable splice fittings have various manufacturers with various fitting types related to cable splicing accessories. Due to these variants, the performance will be different on the splicing accessories. Will cable compatible with any splice kit manufacturer and kit type that is made per industry-recognized standards and listings suffice? |
