Request for Proposal
The University of Alberta is inviting the submission of Proposals to supply a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer with electrospray ionization, coupled to both supercritical fluid chromatography and ultra-high performance liquid chromatography. The Chemistry Department will use the instrument to quantify per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in environmental matrices (e.g. drinking water, surface water, sediments). In addition to the traditional longer chain PFAS such as those included in the EPA method 1633A, the Department needs to be able to quantify ultra-short chain PFAS including trifluoroacetic acid and trifluoromethane sulfonic acid. The Department will use the SFC module of the requested instrument for this purpose. The successful proponent shall supply, install, maintain and provide training for the proposed equipment.
