INVITATION FOR BIDS
CITY OF ABILENE
ABILENE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, ABILENE, KANSAS
AIP PROJECT NO. 3-20-0001-021 / 022-2026
Sealed bids will be received until 11:30 a.m. local time, on April 21, 2026, at City of Abilene, 419 N. Broadway
Avenue, Abilene, KS 67410 and then publicly opened and read aloud, for furnishing all labor, materials and
equipment and performing all work necessary to: Construct T-Hangar. In general, this work will require the
following approximate quantities:
Unclassified Excavation (Schedule A: 1,930 CY / Schedule B: 2,300 CY); Barrow Embankment (Schedule A: 230
CY / Schedule B: 300 CY); 5” Concrete Pavement (Schedule A: 1,180 SY / Schedule B: 1,500 SY); Construction
of Pre-Engineered (Schedule A: 6-Place / Schedule B: 8-Place) T-Hangar with 5” Reinforced Concrete Floor and
Footings, Hangar Electrical System; Marking; Sodding

To be qualified to Bid, a complete set of plans, specifications, contract documents and proposal form must be
obtained from either: 1) www.questcdn.com for a fee of $22 (nonrefundable). Once logged into the site, insert
eBidDoc project number 10097285 (Abilene Municipal Airport, Abilene, KS; Construct T-Hangar); or 2) Olsson
at 402.474.6311 for a fee of $100 (nonrefundable).

Contractors bidding need not be pre-qualified but shall be qualified to do the work.
Contractors may inspect the project site by arrangement with Jim Curtis, airport manager, 801 S. Washington

This project is subject to the requirements of 49 CFR Part 26 Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Participation.
The Airport Sponsor has established a contract participation goal of 0.0% for small business concerns owned and
controlled by certified disadvantaged business enterprises (DBE). The Owner’s award of this contract is
conditioned upon the bidder satisfying the good faith effort requirements of 49 CFR § 26.53.
General Civil Rights Provisions: In all its activities within the scope of its airport program, the Contractor agrees to
comply with pertinent statutes, Executive Orders, and such rules as identified in Title VI List of Pertinent
Nondiscrimination Acts and Authorities to ensure that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, national origin
(including limited English proficiency), creed, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), age, or
disability be excluded from participating in any activity conducted with or benefiting from Federal assistance. This
provision is in addition to that required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
The above provision binds the Contractor and subcontractors from the bid solicitation period through the
completion of the contract.
Title VI Solicitation Notice: The City of Abilene, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act
of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 USC §§ 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders or offerors
that it will affirmatively ensure that for any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses will be
afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and no businesses will be
discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin (including limited English proficiency), creed,
sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), age, or disability in consideration for an award.
