Freeman Lake Campground was initially constructed in the late 1970s, and minimal maintenance has occurred on the original build since then. Based on the Structural Condition Assessment and Site Layout Assessment (ISL, 2022), the infrastructure at the site is beyond repair and requires replacement. Campsites are too small for modern camping units, and there are no standard picnic tables and fire rings at each site. The existing vault toilet requires replacement. The warming shelter is in a deteriorated state and disconnected
from the campsite. Additionally, on site there is currently no watercraft hand-launch.
Following the processes outlined in this RFP; the successful Proponent will work with the Province to investigate and formalize opportunities identified in the Project Plan to implement and achieve the end result desired by the Province. Portions of the Project Plan to be implemented as part of the work of this project are outlined herein (refer to section '2.2 Project Description’).
The purpose of this RFP is to invite proposals from qualified proponents who demonstrate sufficient experience and capability. These proponents will be expected to provide the services described in the Project Description for the site redevelopment outlined in the Project Plan.
