Heat Recovery Project Development

Description of goods to services to be bid:

The Program aims to increase deployment of technologies to recover and reuse heat by funding the planning and analysis needed to understand a building’s heat recovery opportunity and to design specific heat recovery energy conservation measures. Program funding is intended to reduce the cost and complexity of the upfront assessment and design required to develop projects that incorporate recovery of previously rejected heat.
The Program provides cost-share for technical assistance to support the inclusion of heat recovery energy conservation measures within existing building retrofits. Multifamily, commercial, institutional, industrial and manufacturing buildings and facilities are eligible. There are two Categories of activities that can receive project cost-share through this Program: 1) the assessment of the heat recovery opportunity based upon energy rejected by the building’s existing operations and 2) the design of cost-effective heat recovery and reuse approaches to reduce total energy usage.

Eligibility/Qualifications Requirements/Preferences:

To qualify for the program, participating buildings must be located in New York State, served by a New York State Investor-Owned Electric Utility (such as Consolidated Edison, National Grid, NYSEG, Orange and Rockland, Central Hudson, or RG&E), and pay System Benefits Charges (SBC). An existing property of any size that falls under the classification of multifamily, commercial, industrial, and/or institutional buildings is eligible.
