Synopsis:
|
|
The City is seeking professional services from an insurance broker with experience and expertise in the public sector. The successful insurance broker’s expertise in securing quality, relevant insurance coverages at competitive terms, as well as the delivery of risk management and loss
prevention services will complement the City’s on-going risk management efforts, including Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant, Regina Police Service and Regina Exhibition Association Limited.
The City wishes to enter into a five (5) year broker services agreement.
Assigned responsibilities include:
- Insurance Services
- Risk Management Services
- Claims Management
- Loss Control Services
- General Advisory Services
The City, through its Risk Management Branch, has developed a risk management program suited to the City’s diverse business operations and services. The Risk Management Branch delivers a comprehensive integrated program that is continuously identifying and managing corporate risks. Policies and procedures have been designed to mitigate against personal injury, property damage, breach of security, corporate liability, and other forms of controllable loss. The City manages all insurance claims within the self-insured retention, however it does utilize independent adjusting service firms and external litigation services when necessary.

Although there is no set amount of work required, there could be as many as:
- 100 contracts a year to review and provide insurance advice. These include, but are not limited to supply, service, construction, consulting and engineering services and lease agreements
- 150 Certificate of insurance documents to be issued
- A minimum of 10 Loss Control inspections to be conducted annually, on locations which have an appraised replacement cost value at a minimum value of $500,000.
Submissions clearly marked "COR26-00036 Broker Services", in the header line, will be received by the City of Regina, via email at procurement@regina.ca, no later than 2:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, on April 23, 2026.
Unless otherwise indicated, and subject to applicable exceptions and exclusions, this procurement is covered by:
•Chapter 5 of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement
•Chapter 19 of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement
•Article 14 of the New West Partnership Trade Agreement
There will not be a public opening however the list of firm names who submitted a response will be posted to the Sasktenders website
