The City of Nanaimo is seeking a contractor for CCTV security camera design and upgrades at
various City facilities. The scope of work includes conducting site assessments, providing design
services, and supplying, installing, and commissioning new Avigilon cameras.
The Services will cover upgrades at multiple City Facilities and sites, with each individual project
ranging from $10,000 to $200,000. The work will be carried out on an as-needed basis.
Individual projects that could exceed $200,000.00 may be tendered separately by the City.
The first term of the Agreement, if awarded will be for one (1) year from date of award, as further
described in Section 3.5.
Key tasks include:
Planning and Design concepts and strategies for new CCTV systems
The removal and replacement of old cameras, installation of new cameras, network
integration, and full commissioning of the system.
Annual maintenance of existing CCTV camera infrastructure
The contractor will also be responsible for providing documentation, user training, and
post-installation fine-tuning.
Ongoing product support and roadmap of Avigilon platform changes
The contract will require adherence to specific technical and equipment standards,
including the use of Avigilon cameras and related network infrastructure.
All work must comply with provincial regulations, including electrical safety standards.
This Request for Proposal is subject to the New West Partnership Trade Agreement, the Canadian
Free Trade Agreement (Chapter 5), and the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic
and Trade Agreement (Chapter 19).
