Base Scope of Work as Follows:
1. Material Submi(cid:425)al
A. P rovide material & system data, installa(cid:415)on procedures, warranty data, color samples, etc. to District for Review.
2. Removal & Disposal
A. R emove all existing PIP rubber surfacing, including wear course and base layer, within the designated playground area.
B. Legally dispose of all removed materials off-site in accordance with local and State regulations.
C. Protect existing structures, utilities, and surrounding landscaping during removal operations.

3. Subgrade Prep.
A(cid:425)achment 5.1 08/12/26
A. Contractor shall prepare the existing subgrade to receive new PIP, including minor leveling, compaction, and moisture conditioning sufficient to meet manufacturer tolerances.
4. Exis(cid:415)ng Structures
A. Contractor shall work around existing play and shade structures; no removal or relocation of these structures is included in the Base Bid.
B. Subgrade preparation and PIP installation under and adjacent to these structures shall result in a flush, uniform finished surface.
C. Proper slope and elevation for drainage, safety, and accessibility shall be maintained.
5. P.I.P. Installa(cid:415)on
A. Install new poured-in-place rubber surfacing to Contractor selected manufacturer's specifications & code requirements.
B. Color to be and system thickness as specified by the District. (50% Hunter Green /50% Black) WEBSITE: https://www.surfaceamerica.com/epdm-color-blend-mixer/
C. Finish surface shall meet required fall height protection, impact attenuation (ASTM F1292), and accessibility standards (ASTM F1951 / ADA).
D. Contractor shall ensure a smooth transition between existing and new PIP surfaces around structures.
6. Compliance Req.
A. C ontractor must hold appropriate California contractor license (C-61/D-34 for playground surfacing).
B. Contractor must be registered with the DIR pursuant to Labor Code 1725.5.
C. Prevailing wages apply (Labor Code 1720 et seq.). Sheet No.:
D. A ll work shall comply with applicable State, local, and manufacturer codes and standards.

7. Protec(cid:415)on/Clean-Up
A. Protect existing structures, surrounding landscaping, and site features.
B. Remove debris daily and leave the site clean and safe for student use.
