17. Will your agency hold a public opening? If yes, can you please provide the date, time, and location?
ANSWER: There will be no public opening for RFPs. Proposals will be evaluated based on the criteria outlined in the

ANSWER: Yes, for the Roy C. Hill Education Center.
19. Can you confirm that this requirement is needed under 3.4 minimum qualifications: “Have satisfactorily completed
a California P.O.S.T. (Peace Officer Standards and Training) Level III-approved basic training program.” According to
https://post.ca.gov/peace-officer-basic-training The POST-certified Regular Basic Course (basic academy) is the
training standard for police officers, deputy sheriffs, school district police officers, district attorney investigators, as well
as a few other classifications of peace officers. The basic academy is both physically and mentally challenging. It
includes a minimum of 664 hours of POST-developed training and testing in 42 separate areas of instruction called
Learning Domains. Most POST-certified basic training academies exceed the 664 hour minimum by 200 or more hours
with some academies presenting over 1000 hours of training and testing.
ANSWER: Neither the P.O.S.T Basic Academy nor PC832 are required for unarmed positions. The P.O.S.T. (Peace
Officer Standards and Training) Level III requirement was requested in error. The awarded security officers only need
a guard card and SB390 certification to work in a K–12 school district (SBCSS). Security officers or security guards
working more than 20 hours must complete the 20 hours of SB390 (formally SB 1626, EC 7583.45).
SB 390, Umberg. School safety: school security officers and security guards.
“Under existing law, every school security officer employed by a school district or community college district, and every security
guard working on the property of a school district or community college district pursuant to a contract with a private licensed
security agency, who works more than 20 hours a week as a school security officer or security guard is required to complete a
course of training developed by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services of the Department of Consumer Affairs in
consultation with the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.”
20. Will any security services be required at the Apple Valley County Education Center?
ANSWER: Yes. Security services will be required at the Apple Valley County Education Center, now known as the
Vision Alternative Learning Academy, located at 12555 Navajo Dr., Apple Valley, CA 92308.

21. Is Vision Community School still scheduled to close in August 2026? If so, will the students be transferred to another
location, and will security services need to be increased at that site?
ANSWER: Yes, as stated in the SPECIFICATIONS section, Vision Community School will permanently close in August
2026. Additional security will not be needed at relocated sites.
22. Can you please confirm the address for the Yucca Valley Community School?
ANSWER: The address listed for the Yucca Valley Community School in the RFP was entered incorrectly. The address
provided reflects the former location and is no longer in use. The correct address is 58945 Business Center Dr., Suite A,
Yucca Valley, CA 92284.
