Spring/Fishburne Stormwater Deep Tunnel Inspection

The work includes furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to provide services to allow an inspection team to safely enter, exit, and inspect the Spring/Fishburne stormwater deep tunnel system consisting of the Mainline tunnel (approximately 5,400 LF), the President St tunnel (approximately 2,000 LF), the President St tunnel extension (approximately 900 LF), and eight (8) tunnel adits (the longest one being approximately 500 LF).  The inspection of the facilities will be performed by the City and their representatives. All work performed must meet the requirements of the City and must comply with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other applicable standards.  Selected contractor will be expected to proceed diligently with all work assigned and will be required to execute a “Contract for Professional Services,” which outlines in specific detail the responsibilities of all involved parties.

The inspection team will consist of team members from Black & Veatch, the City of Charleston, and any other persons as determined by the City of Charleston.  Assume up to 6 team members.  Tunnel system will be inspected in a dewatered state.
