READING MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL FIELD HOUSE FLOOR REPLACEMENT
PROJECT #25-16
The Town of Reading, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from qualified bidders for the Reading Memorial High School Field House Floor Replacement at 62 Oakland Road, Reading, MA, in accordance with Contract Documents prepared by Gienapp Architects, LLC, 20 Conant Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
The project is to replace the resilient floor covering in the Field House with new flooring. A portion of the existing floor slab will be removed and new, recessed concrete floor slab will be poured. A portion of the floor will be wood athletic floor assembly, and a portion will be resilient athletic flooring. The project includes replacing electrically powered manual bleachers with new powered bleachers.
The estimated cost of the project is $2,900,000.
Sealed bids for the General Contract will be received until 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in accordance with the procedures set forth in 25-16 “Instructions to Bidders” There are no filed sub-bids.
In order to be eligible to bid on this Contract, a General Bidder must be DCAMM certified for the estimated project cost and in the category “Floor Covering”. Each Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount Bid.
Each Bid on this Contract must be accompanied by a copy of a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and a Contractor Qualification Statement Update and Bid Bond. Bidding procedures and award of the Contract will be in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 149 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as amended.

A pre-bid conference will be held at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, commencing at 62 Oakland Road, Reading, MA. Convene at the Facilities Office (not the school entrance).
The minimum wages to be paid for all labor on the project are established in a schedule issued by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, in accordance with Section 26A – 27D, of Chapter 149 of the M.G.L.
