The Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) intends to extend its existing agreement with Nichols Forensic Consulting (Nichols) for Firearms Examiner Training.
The State is pursuing this procurement a single source purchase because the current DPS staff assigned for firearms examination has either been trained with the Nichols curriculum with Nichols’s training staff, or is currently undergoing the training with Nichols. Changing to a different training program at this point would create inconsistencies in DPS’s training and knowledge base.
