Data Protection Storage and Services

SUNY UPSTATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY (“UPSTATE”) intends to make an award under our discretionary authority, pursuant to NYS Education Law §355(5)(a), which is up to $125,000, for Data Protection Storage and Services. Upstate would like Offsite Tape Vaulting services. The vendor should be able to provide off site storage, transportation and database for backup tapes provided by Upstate. A sealed bid will not be held. If you are interested in providing a proposal for the above service, you must contact the appropriately designated Campus contact in this advertisement within fifteen (15) business days of this Advertised Notice.

Detailed Specifications/Requirements:

The vendor must be able to provide the following:

Service:

• Off-site storage.
• Database of tapes and storage containers.
• Online access to the database of tapes and storage containers.
• Pickup and transport to and from Upstate and the vendors facilities.
  • Pickup and drop off of tapes must be Monday thru Friday except holidays.

Facility:

• The facility would have to be fireproof with a fire suppression, i.e., FM200 for the fire suppression.

Containers and Storage:

• Dust free storage, can't have dust on the tapes it will destroy the readers when loaded into the tape library.
• Keep tapes out of sun light.
• Operational Storage-61 to 90°F
• Archival Storage-61 to 77°F
• Tapes need to be stored properly in tape shelves.

Minimum Qualifications of Eligible Organizations:

• Vendor’s firm must have at least three (3) continuous years of experience providing services requested above.
• Vendor is authorized to do business in New York State.

This procurement is subject to NYS Finance Law (“SFL”) §§139j&k, also known as the Lobbying Law, therefore, vendors are cautioned that the only permissible contact for this procurement is the individual(s) listed below. Contacting any other individuals at Upstate in connection with this advertisement may constitute a violation of SFL. Failure to comply with this requirement can range from no contract award to debarment from sales to any NYS agency. Vendors responding to this advertisement shall be required to complete and submit applicable documents related to Vendor Responsibility, NYS SFL §§139 j&k and NYS Tax Law Section 5-a.

Vendors responding to this advertisement will be required to submit valid and current NYS Workers’ Compensation and Disability forms.
